The Taiwan iGEM Meet '22 aimed to provide a platform for Taiwanese teams to receive feedback through project showcases and increase networking opportunities. Sabrina Yeo was one of the co-organizers, and did a short speech on iGEM Community. She was hoping to drum up interest in what people can do after the iGEM Competition.
- Event Date: August 22nd-23rd, 2022
- iGEM Representative: Sabrina Yeo, iGEM Ambassador to Asia & Oceania

Since there hasn't been an in-person Jamboree for two years, it seemed pretty helpful for alumni (especially those who attended the last in-person Jamboree in 2019) to come back and help share their experiences, both for the competition and the Jamboree. Not a lot of people had heard of the iGEM Community as well, and some seemed pretty interested to explore the different fields iGEM Community offers, especially the entrepreneurship field.

Sabrina Yeo, iGEM Ambassador to Asia & Oceania
“Being able to organize and attend this event has been an amazing experience. Seeing how passionate the teams are about their project, and being very receptive to feedbacks showed me just how important events like this are for them. This is a great chance for teams to network and interact with each other, helping to build each other up and generally being supportive to each other.”
The event itself was a raging success, with high interactions and engagements from both iGEMers and attending alumni. It also sparked a few collaborations between teams. Some people also came up to me to ask more about the iGEM community.
