Proposing a Project

If you’re looking for a community and a platform to build a project around any synbio topic, we encourage you to propose it through our Project Head applications.

In iGEM Community, we work to provide tools and resources that will help you create projects that are beneficial for the iGEM and the synthetic biology community.

In previous years, we had 20+ active projects! To bring their brilliant ideas to life, our Project Heads typically go through a 4-week Bootcamp where they're provided with guidelines and resources on project ideation, leadership and management.

In 2025, the new cohort of Project Heads is undergoing the same Bootcamp, building upon existing projects and bringing their novel ideas to life!
