The global ambassadors team will be available throughout the season to support you, whether you’re an iGEM 2022 team looking for resources and guidance for the competition or an iGEM Alumni wondering how you can participate and benefit from the community.

You can set up a meeting with your region’s Ambassadors through their respective Calendly links (Africa, Asia & Oceania, Europe, Latin America, North America). Select a day, time and add your information, and the platform will create a meeting and generate the link for you.

About

The iGEM Ambassadors represent and promote iGEM and synthetic biology in their respective regions. The iGEM Ambassadors are a diverse and international team of regional leaders who have experienced iGEM and now work together to promote initiatives to expand iGEM and collaborate with local stakeholders to disseminate cooperation across their community. Take a look at the growth of the iGEM Ambassador Program in "The iGEM Ambassador Program: Then and Now" blog post.

Goals

The iGEM Ambassadors connect with the iGEM teams throughout the year. Their activities help teams to navigate through the competition. They ensure progress in communication with HQ to help improve the competition experience.
Whether it’s recruiting new teams or identifying barriers to entry, the ambassadors promote iGEM and Synthetic Biology in their regions, and develop resources to help prospective teams. They are a diverse and an international team and their activities provide insight into their local ecosystems.
There are over 60,000 iGEMers all around the world. The ambassadors connect with their local and regional iGEMers and work with them for the worldwide development of iGEM & Synthetic Biology. They organize activities throughout the year and create platforms that enable alumni to collaborate on impactful projects.
The iGEM Leagues are local and regional competitions designed to enable more local people to learn and apply synthetic biology around the world through competitions. Each region has its own specific challenges when it comes to building their local synbio ecosystems. The iGEM Leagues are a way for local iGEMers to design competitions which will contribute to overcoming these challenges.
